New Timepiece Announcements That Caught The Gull's Eye!

This post is about New Timepiece Announcements That Caught The Gull's Eye!

I'm pretty sure we've seen a bunch of new watch announcements recently from renowned brands like Rolex, Cartier, Bulgari, and so on from events like Watches and Wonders. Here are some timepieces that have caught The Gull's eye!

Rolex Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II 'Sprite'

1: Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II 'Sprite'.

Nicknamed the 'Sprite', this new GMT-Master II strikes the attention of collectors with its new crown position located on the left, as opposed to the right. Looking at the watch next to other GMT-Master II models, the 'Sprite' seems to me like it's a mirror watch. Looking at it a little longer, I also noticed that the date display with the Cyclops (Rolex patented date magnifier) is now positioned on the 9 o'clock position. The 'Sprite' is still powered by the Calibre 3285 movement which debuted back in 2018 with some adjustments to accommodate the new date and crown position.

Cartier Crash

2: Cartier Crash.

We all know how exclusive the Crash is. In some cases, some had to maintain their "Very Important Client" (VIC) status for a couple years before they get offered one. Recently, Cartier unveiled one worthy of "Floyd Mayweather" status decked out with yellow gold, enamel, and diamonds. It is unclear how much the piece would go for as the site states that its "coming soon".

3. Cartier Masse Mystérieuse, Calibre 9801 MC.

Limited to only 30 pieces, the Rotonde de Cartier (Masse Mystérieuse) stands out with its entire movement as its winding rotor. This very unique design is thanks to its differentiating system that took Cartier 8 years to engineer. This piece comes in a 43.5mm diameter platinum case with a ruby cabochon set in the crown, powered by an in-house developed Calibre 9801 MC skeletonized movement.

Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra

4: Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra

Defining what Bulgari is, the Octo Finissimo constantly pushes the limits of watchmaking with it's super thin watches that keeps breaking records one after the other ever since the house introduced the world's thinnest self-winding tourbillon. This year, Bulgari released it's thinnest watch yet that comes in at a thickness of only 1.8mm! Beating Piaget's 2mm thick AUC. Not only is this watch thin as a cardboard cut-out of an actual watch, the mainspring barrel of the Ultra is engraved with a QR code which would direct its owner to a video and an NFT.

Grand Seiko Kado Constant Force Tourbillon

5: Grand Seiko Kado Constant Force Tourbillon.

Introducing Grand Seiko's first mechanical complication watch, the Kado Constant Force Tourbillon is certainly a celebration of the brand's watchmaking excellence. The watch is named Kado as it translates to "heartbeat", showcasing the true heartbeat through its carefully designed sounds and visual beauty. The Calibre 9ST1 delivers true accuracy in movement through the fact that there are no wheels or mechanisms between the constant force mechanism and the tourbillon.
