The Ferrari Daytona SP3 was recently awarded the Grand Prize for Most Beautiful Car 2022 at the 37th Paris Festival Automobile International. Putting out 840cv with Ferrari's most powerful V12 engine, the Daytona SP3 doesn't only sit pretty at the Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo, it delivers performance that exceeds expectations at its owners' next track day.
A panel of influential personalities awarded the SP3 with the Most Beautiful Car 2022 award due to the car's interplay of contrasts and aerodynamic wind paths that make up sophisticatedly sculpted shapes across the car. The design pays tribute to Ferrari's iconic race cars back in the 60s and 70s such as the 330 P4, 350 Can-Am, and the 512 S. As for the convertible unit, Ferrari has chosen to adapt a Targa design with a removable hard-top inspired by prototype sports cars.
Ferrari's Chief Design Officer, Flavio Manzoni, commented on the award saying: “These two important awards are indisputable proof of the levels of quality and excellence reached by the Ferrari Styling Centre, which I have the privilege of leading, and of the sophisticated formal research carried out on the Ferrari Daytona SP3”.
Released just last November, the Ferrari Daytona SP3 completes the third horseman if their lineup of Icona Models with the Monza SP1and SP2 which were launched in 2018. The Icona series celebrates Ferrari's history of the legendary 1-2-3 finish and pays homage to the Ferrari sports prototypes that helped earn the marque its unparalleled motor sport status. By showcasing designs inspired by styles of the marque’s most iconic cars adapted into modernity incorporating using highly innovative materials and technologies available today, the Icona models are second to none in modern-day historic adaptations.
