K8 Xpress Brings Better Korean Street Food To You!
Knowing the number of Korean marts that have emerged over the past year like CU and eMart24, none of them had really delivered when it comes to the quality and taste of their ready-to-eat and made-to-order selections. However, K8 Xpress has, in fact, surpassed my expectations.
Located around the Klang Valley, this Korean mart offers ready-to-eats, made-to-orders, Korean snacks, and some Korean skin care products along with some local favorites. However, the main highlight about their outlets has to be their freshly prepared food as they beat their competitors by a mile. Also, a member of the staff told me all foods are muslim friendly and are in the process of obtaining a Halal certification.
Upon my visit, I decided to grab a bowl of roasted duck bibimbap off the refrigerated shelving unit and ordered jajang ramyeon to be made. Though the thought of pre-packaged bibimbap may sound less ideal, I was rest assured by a member of the staff that they freshly make them every morning and none of the unsold "ready-to-eat" foods are put on sale the next day. While waiting, I went ahead and did some snack and instant noodle shopping.
Once I got the food, I could not resist the urge to dig in as the smell overpowered my intention of eating it back home. Surprisingly, the ready-to-eat bibimbap had already been heated up for me as I assumed there weren't many people around. Otherwise, you might have to heat it yourself at the microwave provided in store. The jajang ramyeon was packed with flavors and it felt like the perfect feel-good meal after a night out or a quick lunch bite. Nonetheless, everything about it was great.
The roast duck bibimbap was the one that really blew me away. Everything about the taste was great and the presentation, despite it being in a disposable bowl container, was almost perfect. I'm a huge fan of duck and this really exceeded my expectations for what a k-mart ready-to-eat bibimbap would taste. Also, there wasn't an overpowering duck gaminess to it which many other places do that makes the duck flavor overpowering.
To wrap my trip up, my experience at the store was amazing and I had also ordered some k-kochi skewers to indulge at home. Stay tuned for a follow up on how that went! I highly recommend all my readers in Malaysia to go give it a try and let me know what you think. K8 Xpress Brings Better Korean Street Food To You 7 days a week.
