Having ordered from Park Grill countless times throughout lockdown last year, this is our first time here to dine-in! Here's what I have to say about my experience over the weekend!
I brought my sister and partner there as I thought we could have a nice dinner out while my parents are hard at work. Park Grill has always been one of our top picks for dinner take-out as they have arguably the best Beef Wellington in town and their pick-up service is second to none. Also, their Pain Perdu is to die for! Now that we finally get to try it served fresh on a plate, things got very interesting.
As we sat down, the atmosphere of the restaurant is very calm and relaxing. Almost like what you'd expect from a casual-fine steakhouse around mid-town Manhattan. We ordered some (VERY LEGIT) truffle fries, their famous Lobster Cappuccino, a half-dozen Kumamoto oysters, Beef Wellington, Sher Wagyu Striploin, and some Kaluga Caviar to go with the Baby Yorkshire puddings. They had some pretty amazing wines that I would PERSONALLY recommend but I was driving that night and had to order a non-alcoholic beverage. My partner, however, ordered a glass of their house-poured French red which tasted superb!
As we were chomping away on some truffle fries, our waiter/restaurant manager came over and offered us another bowl of truffle fries (on the house) explaining that our mains would take awhile. I wasn't sure if it was an extra or they really made a fresh bowl but WE'LL TAKE IT! When it comes to truffle fries, most places would only add a few drops of truffle oil and call it a day. But the people at Park Grill are serious about this! We're talking freshly shaved truffle all over the fries and in the dip along with a whole lot of Parmesan. In fact, this would sometimes be my go-to snack to order out during the lockdown.
The Lobster Cappuccino soon arrived and my did it look like a Cappuccino! Taste was on point and really, it's a very unique bisque. Later on, our caviar and Baby Yorkshire puddings as well as the oysters arrived followed by our mains. Honestly, nothing is short of great and it further reassured me that I can put my faith in restaurants under the Curate Group. All their restaurants really exist to impress and customer service is exceptional.
Going back to before our mains arrived, I did take a few peeks into the kitchen to admire the oven and the restaurant manager came over to update me on the progress on food preparation. He also apologized which he really didn't have to because I would get really suspicious if a Beef Wellington came out in 10 minutes. I've had them at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants in London and it took about the same amount of time to prepare. Nonetheless, they really provide great customer service.
To conclude the night, we had our Pain Perdu, which again blew our minds apart as always, had some coffee and headed home. Overall, my experience was nothing short of amazing and I really can't wait to revisit their other restaurants like Hide and Sushi Ryu along with the new Bar Shake and trying out Sushi Den, Sushi Takumi, and Tenmasa.
