The Worse Times Tend To Bring Out Our True Colors | COVIblog EP4

Let's face it, we all hate the situation we are in right now and we obviously did not envision the year 2020 to be hit by a pandemic let alone not have flying cars and people walking on water. It really does put people in a rather pent up mood which would usually bring out the worst in us as we all cannot wait for life to return to the way it used to be. Maybe this really is the "2020 Vision" change that was supposed to arrive and it did in a different way. Maybe, this is what the human race needs but before you guys jump to any conclusions you should really hear me out.

We all wanted this year to be one hell of a life changer and on a different perspective, it really has been so far. It started with some odd World War III conspiracy and then great fires hit Australia really hard and then Greta came out of nowhere and made some powerful speech and what followed was this great pandemic. People start to break out of their shell under pressure and this is the very reason why one's true colors start to show in ways that are good and very possibly bad.

In times of tension, specifically in America, some people tend to act in a very different way than they normally would. Before we get to the good stuff, let us take a look at some negatives that followed this incident which may have pushed people beyond the masked persona which would send them spiraling into their own thoughts. In fact, it is broadcasted every day on news channels and public demonstrations put America in a very different light than it used to years ago.

Negatives

The president over the past few days had yet again manage to boost his popularity on a global level through his twitter account and saying certain things on TV. He has made some jokes on how we should try injecting ourselves with bleach and disinfectants while exposing ourselves to UV light which may be just a joke he would make under huge tensions from the public for answer, I'm sure that is not a very presidential approach to address the press. Does his "freedom of speech" really show professionalism and benefit the public? He may have delivered some great news before the pandemic although he may be a really funny guy but thanks to this event, he has taken his comedic statements to a whole new level where comedians should really take over the news stations.

Another event that had made America seem like a joke by huge margins are the freedom protesters. It is no stranger to anyone that most Americans only remember the first 2 Amendments which are the freedom of speech and beliefs followed by the right to bear arms. Well, they sure as hell practiced those two by demonstrating in public with arms and some cardboard signs expressing their bad hair days and senior prom concerns. What made it more odd than anything is how they added a pinch, actually a huge scoop, of politics into it because America is simply so polarized that they probably need to make sure their beliefs don't cross over to the other wing even if it brings more benefit.

There is no wrong in these events as it is normal for humans to form their own opinions and crack under immense pressure when their next paycheck is very uncertain but just like I wrote in my previous blog, people have to understand the consequences of their actions and establish deeper, more meaningful thoughts on what is better for everyone rather than what benefits themselves more. Don't forget that we are all in this together so if you are not getting paid, so are millions of people around the world. There is simply no room to be selfish.

Positives

Despite the negative aspects of COVID-19, it does bring out the best in many of us. There is no better place to witness this than to visit your desired social media platforms and see what your peers have accomplished. Everyone is clearly bored out of their minds which means they have more time in a day to do what they want to do. Some have picked up new hobbies like gaming and cooking while others have shown us that they are pretty good at dancing on TikTok and making burnt cheesecake.

There were so many trends that emerged thanks to the pandemic like making Dalgona Coffee which has been made popular by some Korean drama while many others have been dancing on TikTok and even singing which has made me so proud of my friends. There are just so many things we did not know we could do because we had no time for ourselves during our busy lives where we committed most of out time to something be it work of school. It has shown us that we are good at something as long as we dedicate a portion of our time to learn and be good at it. In fact, I myself recently gotten back to cooking great hearty meals whilst learning German and creating YouTube videos along with new business ideas I never would because I simply did not have enough time in a day to focus on those things.

In a business perspective, some of my friends have started their own businesses where they managed to find their value in a skill and capitalize on it. It does not even have to be friends of ours who are getting creative; many businesses who used to be very physically based have taken to the online commerce environment where most people are to get a piece of their dough in order for their business to stay afloat. One good example would be F1, which is my favorite motorsports event to watch, has recently taken their races online on a simulation here half the F1 grid race online with famous names in other fields like football (soccer) and even golf. Above all, e-commerce based businesses have had the best high of their lives as people start shopping online which may quite possibly make Jeff Bezos the next and only trillionaire.

To conclude, the worse times brings out true colors in us which may be good or even bad. However, one thing we must never forget is that we are all in this together; forget which country is number one and who should we blame like kids do but rather, we should really set our differences aside and fight through this together (before we go back to competing again). I just wish this would end soon so I can finally visit my partner and my family back home as soon as possible as I myself am losing my mind in a tiny apartment. If you are religious, I pray that God will bless us all soon and bring life back to the way it used to even if stricter hygienic measures have to be imposed.

May God bless us all and light speed to recovery!
