VCR Bakehouse’s Smell Itself Will Kill You. | Sean’s Calorie Diary.

My girlfriend first introduced this place to me during a time we all had to stay at home unwillingly because of we know what. She (hands down) knows food better than I do and we were all bored of eating the same 5 things for breakfast so it would be nice to try something out. True enough, it was great! So great we had to go there in person when the economy started to open up.

Upon arrival, I saw that my second favorite breakfast place was in the same vicinity and that got me warmed up for what’s to come because that place brings joy to my soul at 11am every other day. There wasn’t much of a queue on site as it was a pretty slow day. Or, what I thought was a slow day as there was no one there but some of the stuff I wanted were almost sold out if not already. Anyway, we indulged through our sight the bright beautiful warm colors of fresh pastry and the smell, mmmmm the smell would simply put me in a food coma I probably won‘t want to wake up from! Anyway, the stuff was right there and we could just buy it so we then made dreams a reality.

The beautiful warm colors of fresh pastry.

We bought a few pastries that day (we’re talking 2 months ago) which I don’t remember which, but one that is still burned into my head is the croissant. I know some would be like “whaaat really that’s your pick?” but hear me out: The croissants are hand made in house just 5 steps from the the sales counter. I remember how fluffy it was and how the buttery flavor simply flew free in my mouth along with the crusty top layer with that warm baked smell that has already put my mind in a state of enjoyment. The other pastries are great and I do urge everyone to try some and figure out which best suits your tastebuds, or consult any member of the team for a recommendation! Super cool bunch.

I’ve always admired the VCR ecosystem where they’ve got fine brunch food, another place for great sandwiches, and one for pastries where none of them really collide with one another; it feels familiar but aren’t the same (same same but different). That’s what I love about the brand and will always go back for more! Great food, great quality, great people!
